critical play study club
“Critical play refers to the practice of using games and playfulness as a means to challenge, critique, and reflect on social, cultural, and political issues.” according to Google AI 🤓

Critical Play Study Club is a once monthly get together where participants playfully explore topics like non-hierarchy, social ecology, indigenous knowledge, anarchism, mutual aid, care, hope-punk, cultural studies, artistic activism, abundance and more. We’ll read and discuss thinkers like David Graeber, bell hooks, Hannah Arendt, Murray Bookchin and so many others, as well as engage with pop culture related to our topics. We’ll teach and learn from one another; plot, build and collaborate on projects; imagine, experiment, dream and pretend; eat, dance, play and laugh; and ultimately contribute to our shared world via critical friendship.
